Carol

O drama romantica ce lasa un gust amar dupa vizionare din mai multe cauze. In primul rand povestea este putin anosta, scenariul este cam simplist si lipsit de ... esenta? Poti face rezumatul unui film de doua ore intr-o pagina A4. Din cele 6 nominalizari pe care le-a primit la Oscar as fi de acord cu 3 sau 4 din ele: coloana sonora unde as adauga prezenta decorului si intrarea in atmosfera anilor 50 plus prestatia celor doua doamne din rolurile principale, Cate Blanchett si Mara Rooney.
Finalul este previzibil, la fel ca tot sirul actiunii urmat de film. Cu toate acestea nu vad ce as putea adauga scenariului, insa este dezamagitor sa afli ca s-au chinuit ani de zile sa finalizeze un scenariu pe care l-au filmat intr-un timp relativ scurt.
Anyway, dragut numele filmului avand in vedere perioada Craciunului in care se desfasoara 80% din film.

Carol

In an adaptation of Patricia Highsmith's seminal novel The Price of Salt, CAROL follows two women from very different backgrounds who find themselves in an unexpected love affair in 1950s New York. As conventional norms of the time challenge their undeniable attraction, an honest story emerges to reveal the resilience of the heart in the face of change. A young woman in her 20s, Therese Belivet (Rooney Mara), is a clerk working in a Manhattan department store and dreaming of a more fulfilling life when she meets Carol (Cate Blanchett), an alluring woman trapped in a loveless, convenient marriage. As an immediate connection sparks between them, the innocence of their first encounter dims and their connection deepens. While Carol breaks free from the confines of marriage, her husband (Kyle Chandler) begins to question her competence as a mother as her involvement with Therese and close relationship with her best friend Abby (Sarah Paulson) come to light.

Doctor Strange

Acum cateva zile am fost la cinema sa vad si eu Doctor Strange, la 'promovarea' facuta de unii prieteni. Mi s-a parut genul de film pe care-l urmaresti cu sete si interes, iti place, dar dupa ce iesi din sala de cinema tinzi sa-l uiti.
Este un film placut de urmarit, cu efecte vizuale interesante pe care le-am corelat instant cu iMapp'ul de pe Casa Poporului si m-am gandit ca puteau sa vina si ei sa concureze cu lejeritate. De asemenea replicile sunt bune, iar Benedict Cumberbatch face un rol foarte bun si este un actor care se face placut foarte usor pe ecrane, dar si in viata reala (vezi Kimmel, Graham Norton).
Avand in vedere ca Marvel a inceput sa scoata astfel de filme, cred ca e indreptatita comparatia lui Doctor Strange cu Deadpool. Personal, mi-a placut mult mai mult Doctor Strange, de la actiune si pana la dialoguri si glume.

Based in New York City's Greenwich Village, Doctor Strange must act as an intermediary between the real world and what lies beyond, utilising a vast array of metaphysical abilities and artifacts to protect the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Room

Well, un film emotionat si tulburator cu o poveste trista care probabil intra in topul multora pentru acest gen. Nu si pentru mine, tocmai de aia nu primeste 10. Chiar daca mi-a placut destul de mult si m-a tinut atent la desfasurare in buna parte, au fost niste chestii care mi s-au parut putin neglijate. Incepand cu 'evadarea' care a fost orchestrata in 2 zile, chiar daca ei convietuiau acolo de 5 ani (cu toate astea e de apreciat modul prin care l-a tinut ocupat si totusi l-a invatat foarte multe), eu unul mi-as invata copilul de-a lungul acestor ani tocmai in directia evadarii. Pe langa asta unde a disparut Old Nick dupa ce a lasat copilul acolo, de ce n-a mers sa 'transeze' situatia :)))).
Prestatia lui Brie nu mi s-a parut cea mai buna si demna de o castigatoare de Oscar, pustiul a iesit mai mult in evidenta si prin prisma varstei, a dat clasa multora prin prestatie, de asemenea emotia pe care ti-a oferit-o dincolo de ecran.
Un film bun de urmarit la cinema si neaparat de bifat in lista filmelor urmarite.

Room

ROOM tells the extraordinary story of Jack, a spirited 5-year-old who is looked after by his loving and devoted mother. Like any good mother, Ma dedicates herself to keeping Jack happy and safe, nurturing him with warmth and love and doing typical things like playing games and telling stories. Their life, however, is anything but typical--they are trapped--confined to a 10-by-10-foot space that Ma has euphemistically named Room. Ma has created a whole universe for Jack within Room, and she will stop at nothing to ensure that, even in this treacherous environment, Jack is able to live a complete and fulfilling life. But as Jack's curiosity about their situation grows, and Ma's resilience reaches its breaking point, they enact a risky plan to escape, ultimately bringing them face-to-face with what may turn out to be the scariest thing yet: the real world.

Prometheus

Ce bine imi pare ca elimin din filmele astea SF la care nu cred ca as avea curaj sa ma uit daca nu aveam pornirea din acest moment. Dupa Man of Steel care a fost ok'ish, a urmat Prometheus care e de cacao. Nu pot intui alte parti pozitive pentru acest film in afara de cadrele impresionante pe un ecran mare, acel aparat care iti face orice operatie, dar stai sa vezi ca e doar pentru barbati (nu face cezariana), dar si nava care-i destul de cool overall.
In rest, logica scartaie pe parcursul celor 2 ore, iar unele faze sunt chiar aberante. Chiar daca este alert, filmul nu prea are suspans, iar coloana sonora lipseste cu desavarsire - o fi ceva normal pentru SF-uri.

Prometheus

This film is set in 2093 and takes place in the same universe as the 'Alien' movies. A group of explorers, including some archaeologists, are on an "undisclosed" mission. They arrive at a moon trillions of miles away from Earth. The team spot what they believe to be signs of civilization. They go to investigate and find more than just signs, they find conclusive evidence. But some of them have an ulterior motive for being there, including the Weyland Corporation. They believe that this is where the human race actually came from. Things soon turn from excitement to survival once inside their discovery.

Man of Steel

Pe scurt, m-am uitat la Superman. Cred ca stie toata lumea deja ca nu-s un fan SF insa la Man of Steel cred ca m-am uitat cu alta esenta in gand, ma uit la Superman, idolul copiilor, jucarii pretutindeni and stuff.
Exceptand jocul actoricesc facut de Russel Crowe si Kevin Costner ceilalti nu m-au impresionat si totusi au fost ceva actori renumiti in distributie. De asemenea efectele speciale si cele 3D au fost puse in imagine destul de bine, alaturi de luptele pe care le-a avut domnul Clark. Coloana sonora parca a lipsit, nu mi-a atras atentie deloc, iar pe langa scenele de lupta parca a fost "fara gust" in desfasurare.
Nu este o capodobera, insa tinand cont ca am rezistat 2 ore jumatate cred ca-i o nota acceptabila.
P.S. Nu e genul de film de urmarit la cinema, oricum e prea tarziu acum :)).

Man of Steel
